Sergei Sidorov has been with Aton since 2002 as head of Fixed Income Trading and Sales responsible for all related operations and business in this field. Subsequently he headed the Capital Markets department at UniCredit Securities. As of December 2009, Mr. Sidorov has been appointed CEO of UniCredit Securities.

Prior to Aton, Mr. Sidorov headed fixed income operations at Troika Dialog. In 1994-2000 he worked as a fixed income trader at International Moscow Bank and later in Deutsche Bank, London.
Sergei Sidorov is a graduate of the Finance Academy under the Government of Russian Federation (1994).

Business Management

Oleg Ponomarev joined our group in 1996. Until 2001 he worked for Bank Austria Creditanstalt Investment Banking (CA IB) in its Moscow office. In 2002 Mr. Ponomarev was appointed to the position of Deputy Head of Corporate Finance at International Moscow Bank (IMB). In 2003 he became head of IMB corporate finance. Currently Mr. Ponomarev acts as Head of Corporate Finance in Russia.
Mr. Ponomarev has extensive experience in M&A advisory. He was responsible for the successful completion of numerous projects in oil & gas, food & beverages, metal & machinery, construction materials and packaging sectors.
Mr. Ponomarev holds a masters degree in Mathematics from Moscow Institute of Engineering and Physics. He is fluent in English and is a native Russian speaker.

Ben Carey joined the group in July 2006 as Deputy Director of Aton’s Research department, and was subsequently promoted to co-head of research for Russia and CIS for UniCredit Markets & Investment Banking. Prior to Aton, Ben worked for Brunswick UBS for six years.
Mr. Carey holds a master’s degree in Slavonic and East European Studies from Glasgow University. He also studied at the London School of Economics and graduated from INSEAD with an MBA degree. Mr. Carey speaks fluent English, Russian and German.
